Strasbourg

Untitled1

Strasbourg is a city divided into several districts, each having its own identity : the german district, the european district and the historical town. The historical center of Strasbourg is rich in alleys and monuments dating back from the Middle Age, which constitutes a great start to learn about Alsacian traditions. Among them, the famous gothic cathedral, the Petite France and ancient tanneries subsist, crossed by beautiful channels and timbered houses. While visiting, it is worthwhile to grab a local bier or glass of wine in a stub of the center town, and savor some famous Alsacian gastronomy.

Visit of Riquewihr, Kaysersberg, Turckheim, Eguisheim, …

Alsacian wine route (northern part, whole day)

Alsatian Wine Route

The Alsatian Wine Route has become famous across the world for its exceptional natural beauty, its simple course and for the instant connection its visitors feel with the region and its growers. This Route winds its way from north to south, for more than 170 kilometres (106 miles) along the eastern foothills of the Vosges. This delightful itinerary leads visitors across rows of undulating, vine-covered hills, and through quaint villages with narrow streets and charming flower-decked houses clustered around the local church steeple.

The Mont Ste-Odile is a peak famous among pilgrims. On its top lays a beautiful convent called the Hohenburg Abbey, circled by ancient fortifications. It is seen as a monument highly representative of the Alsacian culture.

Obernai is a nicely conserved medieval village with beautiful wooden houses decorated with live flowers.

Haut-Koenigsbourg is a medieval castle, well conserved, and situated in a strategic location high on a rocky spur overlooking the upper Rhine plane.
